It was established under the recommendation of World Leaders in Green Chemistry headed by Professor Paul Anastas (known as father of Green Chemistry) with the following aims and objectives:


GCNC received prestigious IUPAC CHEMRAWN ACS GCI-DEN Grant Award for Green Chemistry Networking in India.

Networking by organizing Workshops/Symposia

Prof. R. K. Sharma, Co-ordinator Green Chemistry Network Centre (GCNC) conducted and participated in Green Chemistry Educational programs that were held in many parts of the country. In this way, GCNC is working for networking and also assisting in building a Green Chemistry Educational capacity in India by ‘educating the educators’.

Green Chemistry Network Centre received the prestigious ChemRAWN XIV-GCI Developing and Emerging Nations Grant Award, for the year 2005, 2006 & 2007 from American Chemical Society's Green Chemistry Institute for these activities.
